Letter From The President
As I embark on my final year of President and coaching, (at least for now) I had the pleasure of joining the future of our association, the fresh faces of our initiation players who joined us for "I Love Hockey" today. It brought back fond memories of my first years coaching 14 years ago.
This leads me to think of what Hockey Alberta's model "Hockey for Life" can mean to us all.
It can be a career in hockey, playing any level after minor levels, rec league, coaching, parent of a player, cheering on family, friends or siblings, volunteering or officiating.
It can also mean the life skills and qualities gained. The life long friendships and positive memories from any of the above.
My favorite is the memories. The dressing room chats, road trips, hotels, the tough losses, the championships, the players, coaches, parents, families, officials, board members etc.
I am also proud of the fact our graduating players often want to come back to be a part of our association as coaches and mentors.
What does it mean to you?
In closing, we are excited to get this season underway and make some more amazing memories!!!
